Walshe Associates was founded in 1982 and brings together a broad spectrum of design, restoration and management skills in architecture, landscape architecture, wildlife and environmental conservation, master planning, management planning and sustainable design. The width of our skills and experience has also allowed us to develop project planning, research, evaluation, guidance and monitoring as key components to our work with private and public clients including English Heritage, Cadw, The Heritage Lottery Fund, Europarc, ICOMOS, Scottish Natural Heritage, CABE Space, Natural England and the Tunisian and the Cyprus Governments.
The practice is based in Worcester in England but has a portfolio of projects across Europe and beyond. The practice’s core of professionals frequently joins with others to put together a team capable of exactly addressing the needs of specific projects.

After an early career in financial management Carol qualified in landscape architecture at the Gloucester College of Art in Cheltenham and practised with Strutt and Parker before becoming joining Walshe Associates. She brings not only her financial abilities, being the firm’s financial director as well as ensuring projects run to budget, but also her considerable landscape architectural skills and experience to the firm’s work. She has worked on the creation of new landscapes as well as the conservation of historic landscapes always bringing to the practice’s work a keen concern for the quality of the space about and between buildings believing context should strongly influence the design of buildings and landscapes.
This sense of context has been invaluable to the firm’s master planning and project planning, research, evaluation, guidance and monitoring work.
Carol has a particular interest in garden design and in planting and has designed gardens with a considerable sense of place in England, France and Ireland.
